Winter Appeal

Winter can be especially harsh for those sleeping rough or doing it tough in our city. Cold nights and wet days take a real toll, not just physically, but emotionally too. That’s why we’re collecting Winter Warmers at Soul Hub—practical items like warm jackets, thick socks, and ready-to-eat foods like chunky soups that bring comfort, care, and a bit of hope when it’s needed most.

You can make a big difference by donating funds or dropping off some of the items listed below. Every gift helps us support people in our community who are doing it tough or facing the harsh reality of winter without a safe, warm place to call home.

What are we collecting?

WINTER WARMERS – Food

Milo (large tin)
Coffee (large tin)
Long Life Milk (1 litre)
Chunky Soups and Stews (ring pull tins so they can be heated on public BBQ’s)
Baked Beans and Spaghetti (ring pull tins so they can be heated on public BBQ’s)

WINTER WARMERS – Clothing and Blankets

Warm Jackets (our Guests prefer dark colours)
Beanies
Socks
Warm Blankets (mainly single blankets needed)
Sleeping bags
Backpacks

WHERE TO DROP OFF your Winter Warmer donations

If you’re dropping off a large number of items, please call us first.

WHEN TO DROP OFF your Winter Warmer donations

Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 2:00pm
Friday to Sunday, 7:00am – 8:30am
If you’re unable to drop off during these times, please call us to arrange an alternate drop-off time.

FINANCIAL DONATIONS

Soul Hub doesn’t receive government funding, which means we rely on the generosity of our local community to keep doing what we do. When you donate to Soul, you’re helping us provide practical support and hope to people facing homelessness and hardship in Newcastle. With rough sleeping on the rise in NSW some of the donations raised through our Winter Appeal will go directly to the purchase of specific items including sleeping bags, swags, backpacks for our Guests. Every gift makes a difference.
