Sleepout for Soul 2023: Over $180,000 raised!

Friday 19th May at the Bolton St carpark saw nearly 450 people for Sleepout for Soul 2023. As the sun set over one of Newcastle’s most scenic rooftops sleepers gathered on the roof and the night got underway.

We danced to our awesome live muso Joel Proctor (which included many intense dance offs), listened to our CEO Rick discuss the future of Soul, took part in a fun and heated auction that raised over $2,400! Sleepers were also treated to tours of Soul Hub and before bed snacked on pizza. There were also fire pits, delicious food for purchase thanks to the Rotary Club of Wallsend-Maryland, plenty of games and a whole lot of family fun. It was a great night of true community.

Soul is excited to announce that our 2023 Sleepout for Soul hosted 439 sleepers and raised over $180,000! So we wanted to thank each and every one of you who donated and helped us surpass our goal. At Soul we believe anyone who contributes is a hero, whether it’s a can of beans or thousands of dollars, everyone who gives to Soul is a hero in our eyes.

We receive no government funding so rely purely on the good hearts and generosity of Novocastrians throughout the region. We are so grateful to our Soul community; we could not do what we do without you. So, on behalf of our guests, volunteers, staff and trustees, thank you so much for supporting Soul Hub and the bright future that lays ahead for us in our new building at Level 1, 437 Hunter St.

All funds will go towards our upcoming move to a much larger facility in 437 Hunter Street. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements.
