A new home for Soul Hub

A new home for Soul with the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation (ISNF).

For many years now Westpac has looked after Soul with a venue, rent-free in the CBD. Knowing this season would close one day we were blown away when the Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation approached Soul late in 2021. They offered us a new home in their soon-to-be-revealed home. ISNF offered Soul both more space and a 10-year rent-free venue in the CBD. Certainly, this news is a game-changer for us and our future!

Among other so many other things, it provides Soul Hub with the opportunity to plan ahead and know that our next 10 years are secure and purposefully fit-out spaces in the new building.

At Soul Hub we are privileged to be invited to partner with the Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation. They have encouraged us to call their building our building and we are deeply grateful for that invitation.

The newly launched Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation, based in Newcastle, is keen to provide financial assistance to community organisations that focus on services that empower communities, keep people safe from harm, and walk with the traditional custodians of Australia.

The Foundation’s Chair, Tracy Norman, said;

We want to be known as an innovative Foundation that provides long-term funding, is prepared to take risks, as well as one that really listens to the people we support. We are thrilled and excited to be partnering with Soul Café to provide you with a new home for the next 10 years. Our support will allow you to concentrate on your exceptional service delivery that is so needed in the Newcastle region, and hopefully also provide a unique opportunity to take Soul Café’s work to the next level. We feel a real connection between our two organisations, and we look forward to growing with Soul Café and to stretching and being stretched.

Meet our guests

Our guests and meeting their needs is what compels us. Soul Cafe has become a safe place, a refuge, a family. Its a place where everyone’s welcome because nobody’s perfect and anything is possible.
