On Friday 1st September, we hosted over 380 guests to ‘The Big Ask Gala Ball’ at NEX in what was the culmination of the largest community response Soul has ever experienced!
MC’d by Triple M’s Tanya & Steve, the night Steve reflected what we cherish. A whole of community response to some of the deep needs in our community. Our attendees were warmly welcomed and celebrated by our team and a host of Soul volunteers.
Guests were treated to a delicious variety of entrées, mains, unlimited drinks and desserts! The Anyerin Trio brought good vibes and tunes with guests on their feet dancing through the night!
Our live auction was a spectacle of its own with incredible prizes like VIP Bathurst passes, a ride in a superboat during the races, 7-night Bali accommodation and more! The x2 VIP Taylor Swift tickets was the highlight, auctioned for a huge $18,000! In fact, one of our guests was so moved by the generosity that a further x2 Taylor tickets were donated that went for a further $15,000! The live auction raised $58,750.
Over 50 items consisting of goods, experiences and vouchers were generously donated by incredible individuals, businesses and organisations and $21,770 was raised through ‘The Big Ask Silent Auction!
During the night we also made a significant announcement of support from the West Group of $300,000 through the 2023 Club Grants round!
Dr. Milton and Maureen Sales were honoured for their pioneering work in establishing the Soul Clinic in 2010. The Soul Clinic has provided specialised help by health professionals to our guests with the support of the Brunker Road Medical Practice managing a roster of doctors volunteering their time. This initiative has been the catalyst for many health professionals volunteering expertise in their chosen field and other services providing practical help. This work caused Soul to become more than a meal. Today it’s a convergence of help and we are thankful for the committed sacrificial work of Dr. Milton and Maureen Sales.
