Meet Justine

Even though Soul Hub is born and bred Novocastrian many of our volunteers come to us from other places…. like one of our newest volunteers, Justine.

Justine is originally from Albury. She ran her own business for 20 years. She has three boys and loves the outdoors and her dog Echo.

Justine came to Soul after a life-changing moment where she nearly died from a bad cycling accident. She took this as a warning sign to slow down, be resilient and overcome adversity.

What have you learnt from other guests and volunteers at Soul?

Soul gives our guests the opportunity to ‘just be.’ As you are a volunteer you can be open to yourself, there isn’t the pressure normal workplaces have. What you offer is accepted.

What would you say to others about volunteering at Soul?

Volunteering can be intimidating, come along and see how it rolls, and you will be surprised at how the experience naturally evolves. Thank you, Soul, for being here for guests and volunteers, it enriches the lives of both.

Meet our volunteers

Our wonderful family of volunteers make Soul Café what it is. They bring the heart, the fun, the compassion, the skills, and experience and each and every one makes a difference to the lives of our guests.
